Export Officer

About the role

Balco Australia is seeking an Export Officer to manage end‑to‑end export operations for its hay and related products. Based in the Greater Adelaide Area, you will work on‑site, coordinating documentation, logistics and compliance to ensure smooth international shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate freight bookings with shipping lines, forwarders and transport providers.
• Prepare complete export documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin and shipping instructions.
• Verify product specifications, packing details and customer requirements before dispatch.
• Ensure compliance with Department of Agriculture, customs and international trade regulations.
• Interpret and prepare documents in line with Letter of Credit (LC) terms to avoid discrepancies.
• Maintain internal export records, schedules and shipment reports.
• Communicate with customers, production sites and external logistics partners to guarantee timely shipment flow.
• Assist in resolving documentation or logistics issues quickly and professionally.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of export procedures and systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience in export and import operations, preferably within agricultural commodities.
• Strong understanding of international trade practices, customs regulations and LC documentation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with sales, logistics and production teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Familiarity with ERP or logistics management systems.
