Experienced Carpenter - Residential, Commercial and Structural Projects

About the role

2coms is recruiting experienced, trade-qualified Carpenters for long-term positions with established Australian construction employers. The work covers residential, commercial and large-scale construction projects, and suitable international candidates may be considered for employer-sponsored visas such as the Subclass 482 visa.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans and specifications.
• Measure, mark, cut and shape timber and other construction materials.
• Construct and install wall frames, roof trusses, floor joists and structural components.
• Install doors, windows, flooring, cladding, skirting and other fixtures.
• Perform first-fix and second-fix carpentry work.
• Assemble and install timber frameworks and prefabricated components.
• Use carpentry hand tools, power tools and machinery safely.
• Inspect completed work, repair and maintain existing timber structures, and coordinate with other trades on site.

Required profile

• Recognised trade qualification in Carpentry, Carpentry and Joinery or an equivalent field.
• Strong practical experience as a Carpenter, including structural carpentry, framing, installation or finishing work.
• Ability to read construction drawings and work independently and within a team.
• Willingness to relocate within Australia, depending on the employer and project.
• A positive skills assessment from Trades Recognition Australia or the relevant authority is highly desirable; applicants should state whether they hold one or are undergoing it.

Required skills

• Good measuring, cutting, assembling and installation skills.
• Competence with carpentry tools and equipment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
