Exercise Physiologist - Port Pirie and Port Augusta

About the role

A regional Exercise Physiologist position covering Port Pirie and Port Augusta in the Upper Spencer Gulf, within the SA team of Proactive Health, a national network of allied health businesses. The role is full-time and lets you use your full scope of accreditation across a diverse caseload.

Key responsibilities

• Run comprehensive assessments including functional testing, health screening and exercise capacity
• Design evidence-based exercise programs for clinic, gym, home and community settings
• Lead individual and small group sessions based on clinical need
• Manage clients across multiple funding streams (DVA, Medicare EPC, NDIS, Home Care Packages, workers' compensation) with accurate billing
• Coordinate care with the clinic team, local GPs and external providers
• Track progress and adjust programs, and keep clinical documentation aligned with ESSA standards and Proactive Health's governance

Required profile

• ESSA accreditation as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, or eligibility for accreditation
• Recognised degree in Exercise Physiology or Clinical Exercise Physiology
• Current professional indemnity insurance, or willingness to obtain it
• Current driver's licence and reliable vehicle for site travel and home visits
• Current or willing-to-obtain National Police Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and South Australian Working with Children Check
• Nice to have: group exercise programming, interest in chronic disease or aged care, and previous regional or rural experience; new graduates are welcome

Required skills

• Strong assessment, clinical reasoning and program design skills
• Confidence to work independently in the community while staying connected to the team
