Executive Director, Sector Commissioning and Contracting

About the role

The Executive Director, Sector Commissioning and Contracting, leads the development, management and delivery of innovative commissioning and contracting practices that support Queensland's housing and homelessness investments. This senior position works across government, non‑profit and for‑profit partners to create an integrated, outcomes‑focused service system for vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, procure and manage over 2,000 contracts with 300 service providers.
• Monitor performance, evaluate outcomes and ensure alignment with the housing strategy.
• Oversee new program delivery, grants rounds and capital projects related to tenancy and property management.
• Provide strategic advice and act as a central expertise hub for cross‑agency investment.
• Engage regional staff, community sector and industry partners to shape future service investment.

Required profile

• Proven track record leading commissioning and contracting in large, complex organisations.
• Expertise in managing large‑scale contracts, risk management, quality assurance and governance.
• Strong ability to build collaborative relationships with government agencies, non‑profits and industry.
• Commitment to evidence‑based decision‑making and continuous improvement.
• High integrity, ethics, probity and outstanding judgement.
