Estimating Manager

About the role

SHAPE WA is seeking an Estimating Manager to lead a high‑performing estimating team across Western Australia. You will shape the work we pursue, develop competitive tenders, and drive sustainable growth for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the estimating team through clear objectives, feedback and performance reviews.
• Drive high‑quality, commercially competitive tender submissions from initial review through to final approval.
• Lead tender reviews, contribute to bid strategy, subcontractor selection, margin recommendations and market analysis.
• Partner with clients, subcontractors and internal teams to build trusted, long‑term relationships.
• Monitor tender performance, conversions, profitability and team results, providing clear reporting to management.
• Improve estimating systems, processes and bid practices to strengthen quality, efficiency and consistency.

Required profile

• 10+ years’ experience in estimating or quantity surveying, ideally within fit‑out and refurbishment.
• A building‑related degree, diploma or trade background with strong knowledge of trades and services.
• Proven ability to interpret drawings and specifications for accuracy, buildability and commercial opportunity.
• Experience developing construction programmes and managing complex, competitive tender submissions.
• Strong analytical and reporting capability.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Procore.
• Knowledge of standard measurement methods.
