About the role
Ivanhoe Grammar School is seeking experienced and passionate English teachers to join its academic staff for the 2027 school year. This full‑time, ongoing position will be based at the Ridgeway Campus in Ivanhoe and focuses on developing students' literacy, critical thinking and communication skills.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, research‑informed English curriculum using the school’s instructional model.
- Implement universal teaching practices such as clear learning intentions, formative assessment, differentiation and goal‑setting.
- Create calm, inclusive classrooms that foster curiosity, confidence and high expectations.
- Build strong relationships with students and support their wellbeing through responsive, student‑centred practice.
- Contribute to house life, co‑curricular programs and wider campus initiatives.
- Engage in reflective practice, collaborative planning and professional growth activities.
Required profile
- Relevant teaching qualification and registration for secondary education.
- Demonstrated experience teaching English in a school setting.
- Commitment to high expectations, inclusion and student growth.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty leaders and colleagues across year levels.
