English Language Teacher (ELME) – Temporary Part‑time

About the role

TAFE Queensland is seeking experienced English language teachers to join its English Language and Migrant Education (ELME) faculty on a temporary part‑time basis. You will deliver TESOL courses to adult learners across several Brisbane campuses, using classroom, online and workplace settings. This role offers the chance to shape the skills of diverse students and support their transition into the workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess TESOL curriculum for adult learners.
• Facilitate classroom, online and workplace‑based learning sessions.
• Develop learning resources and assessment tools in line with TAFE standards.
• Provide feedback and support to students to enhance language proficiency.
• Collaborate with the Educational Team Leader and other faculty members.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
• Recognised undergraduate degree, preferably in Education.
• Recent experience teaching English to adult learners in Australia.
• One of the following training and assessment credentials: TAE40122, TAE40116, TAE40110 (with TAELLN411 and TAEASS502) or TAE50111.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of TESOL methodologies and adult learning principles.
• Ability to design and develop assessment tools.
• Effective communication and classroom management skills.

• Salary range $92,930.03 – $105,218.10 per annum (gross) plus 12.75% superannuation.
