Engineering Specialist – Mechanical

About the role
Join Airservices Australia’s Next Generation Fleet team to deliver a new tranche of Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles. This two‑year fixed‑term position blends project work—such as test‑plan development, vehicle testing, and acceptance reporting—with ongoing engineering support for existing fleet assets.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute test plans for new ARFF vehicles.
- Conduct field testing and produce detailed acceptance reports.
- Provide day‑to‑day engineering support for the current fleet.
- Collaborate with fleet, operations, and technical stakeholders to ensure vehicle safety and readiness.
- Investigate issues and deliver evidence‑based recommendations.
Required profile
- Hands‑on mechanical engineer comfortable in both analysis and field environments.
- Experience with vehicles or heavy mechanical systems, preferably in emergency services.
- Proven track record in engineering assessments, testing, validation, or project delivery.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) and eligibility for professional registration.
- Australian citizenship (ASIC required) and strong communication skills.
