Engineering Project Manager – ISANO

About the role

The Engineering Project Manager will lead the Modelling and Standards team to establish the Integrated Sensor Architecture National Office (ISANO) under Project AMP06006. This senior position is responsible for planning, coordination, governance and delivery of complex defence‑related engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and govern all activities required to deliver the ISANO capability.
• Manage complex engineering, systems integration and ICT projects in a defence C4I environment.
• Ensure compliance with Defence governance frameworks such as SEMP and TEMP.
• Provide strategic advice to senior Defence, APS and industry stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of industry experience in engineering or project management, preferably in ICT or defence.
• Master’s degree in Project Management, Engineering Management, Business Administration or related field, plus a Bachelor’s in Engineering, Applied Science or Computer Science.
• Professional project management accreditation (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner) and eligibility for NV1 security clearance.
• Demonstrated experience delivering multidisciplinary projects in high‑risk, technically complex environments.

Required skills

• Project management methodologies (PMBOK, PMMv2, Agile, PRINCE2).
• Defence standards implementation, architecture, verification & validation.
• Systems engineering, integration, test and evaluation.
• Knowledge of ICT, C4I, sensor systems and open architecture standards.
