Engineering Project Manager – ISANO

About the role

The Engineering Project Manager will lead the Modelling and Standards team to establish the Integrated Sensor Architecture National Office (ISANO) under Project AMP06006. This senior position is based in Symonston, ACT and involves planning, coordination, governance and delivery of complex defence‑related engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and govern the delivery of ISANO, ensuring alignment with defence standards and project milestones.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams, including APS, military personnel, contractors and industry partners, across multiple locations.
• Oversee systems integration, ICT and C4I components, and ensure compliance with security clearances and accreditation requirements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Project Management, Engineering Management, Business Administration or related field.
• At least 15 years of experience in engineering or project management, preferably in ICT or defence environments.
• Eligibility for a minimum NV1 security clearance and ability to obtain higher clearances as required.

Required skills

• Professional project management accreditation (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, AIPM).
• Experience with systems integration, C4I, defence acquisition and standards implementation.
• Knowledge of PMBOK, Agile delivery methodologies and defence governance frameworks.
