Engineering Manager (Hybrid)

About the role

The Engineering Manager leads the engineering side of a product team, partnering with the Director of Product and Product Design Manager to deliver high‑quality software on a predictable cadence. The role combines people leadership, sprint planning, and hands‑on coding.

Key responsibilities

• Manage engineering capacity, sprint planning, and removal of blockers to ensure work moves from ready to shipped.
• Run 1:1s, set goals, track performance, and develop engineers through the Sitemate Development Plans.
• Collaborate with the Tech Lead on technical standards, architecture, and code quality.
• Deliver code yourself to stay technically sharp and maintain credibility with the team.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in a product environment.
• Strong execution focus, able to plan capacity, track delivery, and surface risk early.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, high‑velocity environment with AI‑driven product changes.

Required skills

• Hands‑on software development (ability to write and ship code).
• Experience with sprint/iteration planning and engineering process standards (test coverage, PR quality, deployment practices).
