Engineer, Ventilation and Infrastructure

About the role

The Engineer, Ventilation and Infrastructure will design, maintain, optimise and monitor underground ventilation, water and compressed‑air systems at Newmont's Tanami mine. Reporting to the Superintendent and Supervisor of Ventilation and Infrastructure, the role ensures safe, healthy and compliant working conditions while supporting production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, model and optimise underground ventilation, water and compressed‑air infrastructure in collaboration with mine planning teams.
• Monitor and maintain ventilation, water and compressed‑air systems to ensure safe, efficient and regulatory‑compliant operation.
• Conduct ventilation surveys and assessments to verify airflow and air‑quality throughout active mining areas.
• Identify ventilation and infrastructure issues and implement corrective actions to restore performance.
• Support underground operations by providing technical expertise and continuous improvement initiatives.
