Employment Consultant

About the role

Altius Group, a rehabilitation services provider founded in 2001, is hiring an Employment Consultant in Byron Bay. You will partner with the Rehabilitation Consultant or Vocational Consultant to help people who have been injured or ill find new employment. The role is based on site and sits in the Rehabilitation Services department.

Key responsibilities

• Cold call to identify host employers who will place injured workers during their recovery through SIRA programs (volunteer or employee nature)
• Promote SIRA programs and other available incentives
• Create SIRA program and re-training applications for agent review and approval
• Network and build a database of employers willing to host candidates, travelling to various locations within client areas
• Provide job skills training and develop resources for injured workers needing new employment
• Achieve placement KPIs within the timeframe, for example placing a client in a work trial within 6 weeks of referral
• Work with the Head of New Employer Services to build resources supporting the position and its expansion nationally

Required profile

• Demonstrated proficiency in telephone communication and strong sales and marketing skills
• Proven track record in call and sales roles with at least 6 months of experience, achieving KPIs
• Resilient and determined, able to build rapport quickly
• Valid driver's licence and access to a personal vehicle
• Full working rights in Australia; knowledge of the NSW Workers' Compensation scheme is a bonus, not required
