Employment Consultant

About the role

As an Employment Consultant you will work alongside Rehabilitation and Vocational Consultants to help injured workers secure new employment. Based in our Sydney (or Miranda) office, you will use cold‑calling, networking and training to match candidates with host employers participating in SIRA programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and contact potential host employers for SIRA volunteer or employee placements.
• Promote SIRA programmes and related incentives to employers.
• Prepare and submit SIRA programme and re‑training applications for approval.
• Build and maintain a database of willing host employers across client areas.
• Travel to various locations to develop relationships and expand the host network.
• Provide job‑skills training and resources to injured workers seeking new roles.
• Achieve placement KPIs, such as placing a client in a work trial within six weeks of referral.
• Collaborate with the Head of New Employer Services to develop resources and support national expansion.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience in telephone‑based sales or call‑center roles with proven KPI achievement.
• Strong resilience, determination and ability to deliver positive outcomes in challenging situations.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a personable, rapport‑building style.
• Full working rights in Australia.
• Knowledge of the NSW Workers’ Compensation scheme is a plus, but not mandatory.
