Emergency Veterinarian – ARH Wollongong

About the role

Join ARH Wollongong, a 24‑hour emergency and critical care hospital, and enjoy a coastal lifestyle while delivering high‑impact veterinary care. The role primarily involves overnight shifts, especially Thursday to Sunday nights.

Key responsibilities

• Provide emergency and critical care to a diverse range of animal patients.
• Collaborate with internal medicine specialists, surgeons, and GP veterinarians.
• Utilise state‑of‑the‑art surgical theatres, ultrasound, dental and endoscopy facilities.
• Maintain accurate medical records and communicate case updates to pet owners.

Required profile

• Veterinary degree with eligibility for NSW registration.
• Minimum two years of veterinary experience, with prior emergency and critical care (ECC) experience highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced emergency environment.
• Willingness to commit to mandatory overnight availability.

Required skills

• Clinical assessment and emergency intervention for small animals.
• Proficiency in using ultrasound, dental and endoscopy equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
