Emergency Safety Officer – 24/7 Rotating Shift

About the role

Parabellum International Defence (STAR) is seeking an Emergency Safety Officer to support the Osborne Naval Shipyard. You will ensure the safe and effective delivery of emergency response capabilities on a 24/7 rotating shift roster, working in a high‑risk, remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and operate emergency response equipment, including open‑circuit breathing apparatus.
• Enter and work safely in confined spaces and conduct gas atmosphere testing.
• Perform intermediate fire‑fighting duties, respond to urban fires, and lead fire‑team operations.
• Work safely at heights and manage local risk control activities.
• Provide advanced first aid and CPR in emergency situations.
• Uphold all safety, security and compliance standards, including maintaining required clearances.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship and a recent national police clearance.
• Ability to obtain or hold NSSIC and NV1 security clearances.
• Strong communication, high integrity and confidentiality.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Attention to detail and strong technical writing skills.
