About the role

Werribee Mercy Hospital is seeking qualified Emergency Medicine Specialists for both part‑time and full‑time appointments. The role involves delivering high‑quality clinical care autonomously within a busy Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit that serves over 50,000 patients each year.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert emergency medical assessment, treatment and disposition for a diverse patient population.
• Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team of doctors, nurses, allied health and clerical staff to ensure coordinated, patient‑centred care.
• Participate in integrated health services alongside other specialties across multiple hospital departments.
• Contribute to the teaching and training environment accredited by ACEM for 24 months of advanced training.

Required profile

• Fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) – mandatory qualification.
• Australian or overseas medical graduate eligible to practice in Australia.
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining strong partnerships with the medical staff.

Required skills

• Advanced emergency clinical expertise as demonstrated by FACEM qualification.
