Electricity Market Modelling Transaction Analyst - Senior Consultant

About the role

EY-Parthenon's EY-ROAM team provides electricity market modelling services in Australia and New Zealand, helping clients across the energy value chain make informed decisions. The team supports renewable energy and storage developers, investors, network service providers, retailers, regulators and governments. Due to growing demand for its transaction support services, it is looking for a candidate with 2-3 years of experience in the energy industry to join as a Senior Consultant, based in Warringah, Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in delivering the team's fast-response transaction services.
• Help clients understand the commercial quality of renewable energy and storage projects across the National Electricity Market (NEM).
• Use parallel client engagements to focus learning and development on areas of interest.

Required profile

• 2-3 years of experience in energy transactions, such as preparing, supporting or evaluating bids.
• Tertiary education in engineering, mathematics, economics, physics or computer science.
• Ability to work independently and strong communication skills, able to explain insights clearly to clients and colleagues.

Required skills

• High numeracy and the ability to manipulate and analyse large data sets efficiently.
• High computer literacy; the team uses Excel, Python and SQL, and offers time and training to learn a new programming language.
• Experience with PLEXOS is advantageous, although the team does not use it.
