Electrical Operator Maintainer

About the role

BlueScope's Western Sydney Service Centre is looking for an Electrical Operator/Maintainer for its Electrical Maintenance team in Erskine Park. The role sits in the paint line, which uses modern equipment and automated processes to produce COLORBOND products. It suits experienced industrial electricians and electricians from commercial or residential backgrounds who want to build experience in industrial automation and control systems, with training and development available.

The position works a 12-hour rotating day and night shift, five days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Operate machinery and production equipment safely to keep the line running continuously
• Conduct equipment and process inspections, identifying issues and non-compliant equipment
• Provide technical support and problem-solving to keep equipment reliable
• Fault find on PLC, drives, data networks, HMI and instrumentation systems
• Work with cross-functional teams to improve equipment efficiency and help quality products meet customer expectations
• Contribute to a safe working environment and continuous improvement

Required profile

• Electrical trade qualifications and a current NSW Electrical Licence
• Demonstrated experience with technical equipment (PLC, drives, HMI, networks) in fault finding, root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions
• Experience in a similar environment in industrial manufacturing
• Ability to prioritise work, resolve problems and work in a fast-paced environment
