Educational Outreach Officer (BioEYES Australia)

About the role

Monash University is seeking an Educational Outreach Officer for its BioEYES Australia program, based at the Clayton campus. The officer helps inspire the next generation of scientists through engaging, hands-on science education, working with the Outreach Education Coordinator and Director of Outreach Education to deliver interactive biomedical science programs to primary and secondary students across Melbourne and Victoria.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver program teaching and administer the program
• Run teacher professional development workshops
• Collect student surveys and communicate regularly with teachers, students and stakeholders
• Maintain educational equipment and materials, including microscopes and fish
• Contribute to program evaluation, reporting and the development of new outreach initiatives

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in biological or biomedical science and/or teaching, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
• Strong communication and administrative skills
• Commitment to educational excellence, attention to detail and ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• Passion for science education and inspiring young learners
• A driver's licence is required

• Remuneration pro-rata of $79,430 - $84,963 per year, HEW Level 04, plus 17% employer superannuation
