Education Support Teacher (Specialist School)

About the role

The Education Support Teacher joins a specialist public school that provides individualized programs for students with complex disabilities. This permanent, full‑time role starts in Term 3 2026 and focuses on delivering high‑quality academic and pastoral support, including inclusive physical education.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver tailored educational programs across curriculum areas for students aged 4‑18 with intellectual, physical, sensory and behavioural challenges.
• Provide pastoral care and promote social‑emotional development.
• Develop and lead inclusive physical education sessions that enhance motor skills, teamwork and healthy lifestyles.
• Lead and collaborate with a team of Education Assistants to maintain a safe, supportive learning environment.
• Work closely with families, therapists, specialists and external agencies to coordinate student support plans.
• Participate in team planning, professional learning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assess, record and report on student progress in literacy, numeracy, communication and independent living.
