About the role
Aurecon’s Melbourne Environment and Planning team is seeking an experienced Ecologist to support a variety of projects across renewable energy, transport, and defence sectors. You will combine field and desk work to deliver high‑quality ecological assessments and advice.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct ecological field surveys, including native vegetation, flora, fauna, and targeted threatened species surveys.
- Perform nocturnal surveys where required.
- Prepare detailed Ecological Assessment Reports.
- Provide internal ecological advice to project managers and the broader Environment & Planning team.
- Travel to regional and occasional interstate sites as project needs dictate.
Required profile
- 3‑4 years of ecological consulting experience in Victoria.
- Degree in botany, ecology or environmental science.
- Working knowledge of Commonwealth and Victorian environmental legislation and policy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Current Victorian driver’s licence.
