Ecologist, Environment and Planning

About the role
Aurecon’s Melbourne Environment and Planning team is seeking an Ecologist to support a variety of projects across renewable energy, transport and defence sectors. You will combine field and desk work to deliver ecological assessments that inform project design and delivery.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct ecological field surveys, including native vegetation, flora and fauna assessments across Victoria and occasional interstate sites.
- Perform targeted threatened species surveys, including nocturnal monitoring when required.
- Prepare comprehensive Ecological Assessment Reports.
- Provide internal ecological advice to project managers and the broader Environment & Planning team.
Required profile
- 3‑4 years of ecological consulting experience in Victoria.
- Knowledge of Commonwealth and Victorian environmental legislation and policy.
- Tertiary qualification in botany, ecology or environmental science.
- Current Victorian driver’s licence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
