Early Years Teaching and Learning Coordinator

About the role

Xavier College invites applications for an Early Years Teaching and Learning Coordinator to join its Two Wells (R-12) campus. The role is classified as POR2, starts in January 2027 and runs for a fixed period of 2 years. It includes a full-time, permanent teaching component and should be read together with the Teacher Position Information Document. The coordinator provides leadership across Reception to Year 2, working with the Early Years Coordinator, leaders and teachers to drive literacy and numeracy initiatives, support curriculum and assessment practices, build staff capability and promote positive outcomes for all students.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support high-quality teaching and learning practices across Reception to Year 2
• Coordinate and support the implementation of literacy, numeracy, curriculum and assessment initiatives
• Support the delivery and use of assessment and reporting processes, including PAT, NAPLAN and other College assessment initiatives
• Analyse student achievement and diagnostic assessment data to inform teaching, learning and intervention strategies
• Mentor and support teachers through collaboration, coaching, modelling effective practice and professional learning opportunities
• Build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues
• Support student wellbeing, inclusive education and differentiated learning practices
• Manage multiple priorities and operational requirements in a dynamic school environment
