Early Childhood Educator Assistant (Part‑time)

About the role

The Early Years team at Hume City Council is seeking a Part‑time Early Childhood Educator Assistant to support children’s growth, learning and development across several locations. You will work collaboratively with educators, families and children to deliver play‑based indoor and outdoor programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operations in line with the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and related regulations.
• Develop, implement and display developmentally and culturally appropriate educational programmes.
• Plan, observe, interpret and evaluate learning experiences to inform environment preparation.
• Foster inclusive partnerships with staff, families and children to promote shared learning.
• Provide a welcoming, family‑centred environment and orient new families and children.

Required profile

• Understanding of Early Childhood governance policies and regulatory guidance.
• Ability to act under delegated authority for urgent situations.
• Experience collaborating with early childhood professionals and families.
• Commitment to creating secure, interactive learning environments.
