Duty Manager – Regional Southwest Queensland

About the role

A regional hotel in Southwest Queensland, set in a scenic riverside town, is looking for an experienced Duty Manager with strong pub operations knowledge and hands-on experience across gaming, bar, bistro and retail. The role is live-in, with a salary of $77,000-$80,000 plus superannuation and subsidised accommodation in shared staff housing.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift operations so the hotel runs smoothly
• Supervise, train and support team members to maintain high service standards
• Work hands-on across the bar, bistro, gaming and retail areas
• Manage gaming operations, including pokies, TAB and Keno payouts and compliance
• Handle daily cash, till balancing, cash-ups and general administration
• Carry out opening and closing procedures
• Deliver friendly, professional customer service and follow responsible service requirements

Required profile

• Previous Duty Manager or supervisory experience in a pub, hotel or similar hospitality venue
• Strong pub operations knowledge, including food and beverage, gaming and retail
• Experience supervising staff, coordinating shifts and handling cash and tills
• Hands-on approach, strong work ethic and excellent customer service and communication skills
• Current RSA, RSG, CLO, RMLV and Queensland Approved Manager qualifications, or ability to obtain them before starting
• Current police clearance, or ability to obtain one
