Duty Manager – Regional Queensland Pub

About the role

A regional Queensland pub is recruiting a hands-on Duty Manager to lead by example, support the team and deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment. The role covers bar, food and beverage, gaming and daily venue operations, with a rotating seven-day roster including days, nights and weekends. Accommodation is shared staff housing off-site, and the location is accessible by sealed roads, Queensland bus services and flights from Brisbane, with full mobile coverage.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations across the bar, food and beverage, gaming and general venue areas
• Supervise, train and support staff to maintain high service standards
• Provide hands-on bar service, prepare drinks, deliver table service and replenish stock
• Clean and change beer lines and kegs
• Manage cash handling, till balancing and gaming payouts
• Maintain customer service, responsible service practices and patron safety
• Coordinate opening and closing procedures and monitor operational standards

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Duty Manager, supervisor or in a similar hospitality role
• Strong leadership skills and ability to supervise staff in a busy environment
• Confident hospitality professional who takes charge and stays involved in day-to-day operations
• Flexible to work a rotating roster including weekends and evenings
• Current Queensland RSA, RSG, CLO, RMLV and Approved Manager licence, or eligibility to obtain them

Required skills

• Solid beverage knowledge and bar operations
• Experience with cash handling, gaming procedures and daily venue duties
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

What we offer

• Salary of $77,000-$80,000 plus superannuation
