Draftsperson – Construction & Development

About the role

United Petroleum is seeking an experienced Draftsperson to join its construction team in Melbourne. You will work closely with Project Managers and internal stakeholders to produce planning and tender‑stage documentation for new‑build, refurbishment and retrofit projects across the company’s national portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare town‑planning drawing packages, including site plans, store plans, external elevations and signage for permit applications.
• Produce tender‑stage drawing sets for Design & Construct and self‑build projects.
• Create retrofit and refurbishment drawings for existing sites and store upgrades.
• Maintain organised project folders, drawing registers and documentation records.
• Update and develop the company’s standard drawing suite and documentation standards.
• Support efficient project workflows and meet internal delivery deadlines.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast‑paced construction environment.

Required profile

• Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Building Design (Architectural) or equivalent qualification.
• Strong experience preparing planning and tender‑stage documentation in commercial, retail or construction settings.
• Sound understanding of construction detailing, coordination and documentation practices.
• Knowledge of Australian building codes, NCC requirements and relevant Australian Standards.
• Familiarity with fuel‑industry standards such as AS 4897 and AS 1940 is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Revit.
