Dispute Officer

About the role
The Workplace Injury Commission is seeking a Dispute Officer to join its newly created multi‑disciplinary team. You will lead the case management of conciliation disputes, working autonomously to support injured workers, employers and other stakeholders in reaching fair outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Assess new conciliation disputes and develop case plans.
- Engage proactively with injured workers, employers, legal representatives and medical professionals.
- Facilitate discussions, negotiate solutions and help parties reach agreements where possible.
- Review legal documentation, medical terminology and relevant legislation to inform decisions.
- Maintain accurate records and provide high‑quality service in line with Commission policies.
Required profile
- Experience in case management, alternative dispute resolution or conflict resolution, preferably in workers’ compensation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret legislation, policy and procedural guidelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, able to engage respectfully and patiently with diverse parties.
- Demonstrated client‑service orientation and collaborative work style.
- Proven negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
