About the role

The role leads and develops a service area that provides accommodation support for people with an intellectual disability and their families. It requires strong collaboration with non‑government organisations and other government agencies to ensure high‑quality, compliant service delivery.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and monitor continuous improvement systems that meet legislative standards.
  • Contribute to new initiatives that strengthen service capacity for people with intellectual disability.
  • Provide leadership and support to staff through positive management practices and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant public‑sector and disability legislation.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with staff, stakeholders and professional networks.
  • Negotiate outcomes, give constructive feedback and address under‑performance promptly.
  • Demonstrate strong consultation and negotiation skills with stakeholders, staff and colleagues.
  • Present information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Support the DSAS Governance Structure to deliver quality outcomes and continuous improvement.

Required profile

  • Proven experience in leading service teams within the disability or social services sector.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
  • Strong understanding of legislative requirements affecting disability services.
  • Ability to foster collaborative relationships with government and non‑government partners.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and quality service delivery.
