Director, Operations

About the role

NRMA Parks & Resorts, part of the NRMA Group, offers accommodation ranging from campsites to luxury resorts across more than 50 destinations in Australia. As Director, Operations, you will lead regional Operations Managers and take a portfolio-wide view of commercial performance, guest experience, people, safety, risk and operational delivery. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and based from the Gold Coast/Coolangatta office, the role involves regular travel across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Provide senior leadership to regional Operations Managers, setting direction and strengthening performance across the portfolio.
• Empower regional managers to deliver by bringing together people, commercial performance and operational excellence.
• Build capability across the portfolio and strengthen accountability.
• Translate strategy into results and build the conditions for properties and their leaders to succeed.
• Travel regularly across the portfolio to stay connected with Operations Managers and property leaders and help remove barriers to performance.

Required profile

• Substantial senior leadership experience across complex, multi-site operations, ideally in tourism, hospitality, accommodation or another service-led environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and proven accountability for budgets, forecasting, labour, margin and profitability.
• Able to balance big-picture thinking with operational reality, with a calm, credible and people-focused leadership style.
