Director of Pharmacy – Permanent Full‑Time

About the role

The Director of Pharmacy will lead a large, complex pharmacy service at Liverpool Hospital, one of NSW's busiest hospitals. This senior position provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure safe, effective, patient‑centred medication care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of safe, effective pharmacy services across the hospital, overseeing clinical, operational, financial and professional aspects.
• Drive organisational development, innovation and transformational change to optimise performance and respond to emerging health priorities.
• Champion medication safety, quality use of medicines, formulary management and evidence‑based practice.
• Contribute to the strategic direction of Pharmacy Services across South Western Sydney Local Health District and foster a culture of continuous improvement, research and professional excellence.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with AHPRA, no restrictions on scope of practice.
• Proven experience leading complex hospital pharmacy services, balancing clinical, operational, financial and workforce priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams through organisational growth, change and service improvement.
• Extensive knowledge of contemporary pharmacy practice, clinical governance, medication safety and relevant legislation.

Required skills

• Operational management experience within a complex health‑care environment.
• Experience with drug and therapeutics committees, medication safety initiatives and quality improvement activities.
