Director of Finance

About the role

The Hoxton is opening its first Australian hotel in Melbourne and needs a Director of Finance to build the finance function from the ground up. You will own all financial reporting, compliance and strategic planning for the new property.

Key responsibilities

• Establish the finance function – chart of accounts, USALI reporting, controls, systems and team.
• Maintain accurate statutory accounts, GST/BAS, FBT, payroll tax, STP, superannuation and oversee the annual audit.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and partner with the General Manager on strategy and owner reporting.
• Develop and manage a high‑performing finance team.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hotel finance experience, preferably as Financial Controller or Director of Finance.
• CA or CPA qualified with strong knowledge of Australian tax and statutory requirements.
• Pre‑opening or new‑build experience – you have set up a finance function before.
• Methodical, process‑driven yet flexible to meet deadlines.
