Director, GST Advisory

About the role

KPMG’s Indirect Tax practice is seeking a Director to lead GST advisory engagements across Australia. Based preferably in Sydney or Melbourne, the role combines senior technical expertise with commercial leadership to support major organisations in managing indirect tax obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex GST advisory and transaction engagements as the senior technical expert.
• Communicate GST concepts clearly to stakeholders, including non‑tax professionals.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives and drive business development through client relationship building.
• Mentor and develop a high‑performing team, fostering inclusion and capability growth.
• Contribute to national thought leadership through publications, industry events and practice innovation.
• Advance tax technology, data analytics and automation to enhance client solutions.

Required profile

• Strategic thinker with strong project leadership, able to manage multiple large‑scale engagements.

Required skills
