Director, Finance

About the role

Export Finance Australia is seeking a Director, Finance to join its senior leadership team during a period of rapid growth. Reporting to the CFO, you will shape the financial reporting, valuation and control framework that underpins the organisation’s strategic initiatives, including the new Strategic Reserve facility.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end close and consolidation process, delivering timely monthly, half‑year and annual financial statements with robust balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee the preparation of annual financial statements and forward‑looking forecasts to support planning and performance management.
• Ensure all financial reporting complies with relevant accounting standards, regulatory and statutory obligations.
• Develop and maintain valuation and accounting models (including fair‑value) for the Strategic Reserve and other complex transactions.
• Design and implement finance policies and procedures that enable new product introductions and scalable practices.
• Provide insight, discipline and governance to enable confident decision‑making across the organisation.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in senior finance roles, preferably within government‑linked or export‑focused organisations.
• Proven track record of delivering accurate, compliant financial statements and managing complex valuation projects.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to develop finance policies and drive continuous improvement.
