Director, Consumer – Australia

About the role

The Director, Consumer leads the product and growth strategy for PayPal in Australia, owning the end‑to‑end consumer funnel and commercial performance. Operating autonomously in‑market while aligning with global strategy, the role balances product design, technical, regulatory and customer needs to deliver high‑quality experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Drive revenue growth and market expansion by identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships, channels and opportunities.
• Lead negotiations with external partners and coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver complex partnership solutions.
• Align product and business levers such as pricing and FX to maximize revenue.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, risk, legal, sales, marketing, finance and banking partners to influence product outcomes.
• Represent the end customer to prioritize decisions and shape product roadmap.

Required profile

• 10+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven track record of end‑to‑end ownership of a consumer growth funnel, meeting targets for acquisition, activation, habituation and revenue.
• Experience shaping global product direction from local market insights.
• Strong quantitative instincts and ability to turn cohort and funnel data into growth and investment decisions.
• Executive communication style with ability to set vision, make trade‑offs and align stakeholders without direct authority.

Required skills

• Background in payments, financial services or technology marketplaces, preferably with direct P&L responsibility.
• Experience influencing matrixed organisations across product, marketing, CRM, GTM, sales and financial services.
• Comfort operating at the intersection of demand and supply, representing consumer priorities in merchant or partner relationships.
