Director - CFO Advisory (Finance)

About the role

EY is hiring a Director for its CFO Advisory team in Warringah, Sydney, working on a hybrid basis. The role supports clients from middle-market businesses to some of the world's largest companies through significant change, including preparation for major transactions (sale and purchase), financial audits and audit remediation. The position is open to negotiation depending on skills and experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of engagements, including planning, approach, stakeholder management, commercial outcomes, risk management and team building, coaching and mentoring.
• Help clients assess the impact of current, proposed or revised accounting standards (AAS, IFRS) and implement practical solutions.
• Act as part of the client's deal team across the transaction lifecycle (pre-deal and post-deal), giving insight into accounting impacts of IPOs, equity/debt raising, acquisitions, divestments and buy-side/sell-side due diligence.
• Assist with post-deal accounting and reporting matters.
• Contribute to practice strategy development and execution.
• Drive business development through professional networks, prepare and deliver proposals, and work with the Australian Account teams to maintain long-term client relationships.

Required profile

• CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• At least 12 years of relevant experience (professional services highly regarded).
• Ability to build and manage relationships with multiple clients and teams, and to work with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to grasp complex technical accounting issues and explain them clearly to stakeholders.
