Director, Australia – Beauty Brand

About the role

Merit is seeking a senior leader to become the Director for Australia, driving the brand’s growth and commercial performance across the market. You will shape the local brand strategy, lead a nimble team, and translate brand equity into measurable sales results.

Key responsibilities

• Define and protect the Australian brand strategy, adapting global campaigns for local relevance.
• Lead product launches, activations, influencer, content, social and retail media initiatives.
• Recruit, manage and develop the PR Manager and oversee earned media, events and partnerships.
• Own the Australia P&L, setting revenue, margin and sell‑through targets.
• Develop and execute the sales plan for retail partners and Merit’s DTC channel.
• Negotiate trade and retail marketing opportunities, manage retail relationships and measure ROI.
• Collaborate with global marketing, creative and supply‑chain teams to ensure brand consistency and stock availability.

Required profile

• Proven senior experience in brand building or commercial leadership within the beauty or consumer goods sector.
• Entrepreneurial mindset comfortable wearing multiple hats in a lean organisation.
• Strong P&L ownership and ability to drive sell‑through from brand equity.
• Excellent leadership skills to build and develop a small local team.
• Passion for growing a global beauty brand in the Australian market.
