Dietitian – Aboriginal Community Health

About the role

Orange Aboriginal Medical Service (OAMS) is seeking a Dietitian to join its growing Waluwin Allied Health Team. The role provides culturally safe nutrition assessment, intervention and education across primary healthcare, chronic disease management, healthy ageing, NDIS and community health programs. It suits both new graduates and experienced dietitians.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based nutrition assessment, counselling and care planning.
• Provide individual and group-based education programs.
• Work with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals and allied health assistants.
• Support clients accessing Medicare, NDIS, My Aged Care and other funded programs.
• Take part in health promotion, outreach and community engagement.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Dietetics (or equivalent).
• Eligibility for Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status, or working towards it.
• Commitment to culturally safe, person-centred care.
• Current NSW driver licence.
• Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check, National Criminal History Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
