DevOps Engineer

About the role

As a member of the Chief Engineer group, you will deliver secure Space Domain products throughout the software engineering lifecycle. You will design, implement and operate secure CI/CD pipelines, security tooling and monitoring across cloud and on‑premises environments, working closely with software, systems and cloud teams.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously integrate and deploy Space Domain products to customer environments using secure automated pipelines.
• Monitor deployed applications, respond to incidents and resolve issues to minimise downtime.
• Design, implement and administer security tooling such as vulnerability management, security testing and operations monitoring.
• Support cybersecurity framework assessments and produce security reports for audit and compliance.
• Maintain documentation for the DevOps environment and tooling.
• Collaborate with engineering to adopt shift‑left security, holistic automation and continuous security management.
• Provide engineering support for business development, stakeholder engagement and broader business needs.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Consider flexible hybrid work arrangements and a 9‑day fortnight.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in software engineering, computer science or a related discipline.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, pipelines and automation.
• Experience in application and infrastructure monitoring and incident response.
• Proficiency with infrastructure‑as‑code tools and Linux support.
• Understanding of building and deploying containerised applications and the full software lifecycle.
• Experience producing and reviewing technical documentation.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Australian Defence Security Clearance (preferably NV1) or ability to obtain one.
