DevOps Engineer – Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

Schoolbox is seeking a permanent DevOps Engineer to join its Infrastructure Services team. You will be responsible for the operation, security, and scalability of the company’s cloud‑native SaaS platform as it expands into new global regions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, scale and secure the Schoolbox cloud environment on AWS and Cloudflare.
• Optimize cloud spend, monitor usage patterns and evolve architecture for cost‑effective growth.
• Maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Puppet (or equivalents) and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Concourse CI.
• Build and operate observability solutions with Grafana’s stack, ensuring high availability and rapid alerting.
• Manage access controls, OS/dependency patching and custom package creation.
• Mentor junior DevOps engineers, provide L1/L2 escalation support and participate in on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• Process‑oriented mindset with strong problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience designing and operating large‑scale cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to mentor and uplift technical capability across teams.

Required skills

• AWS services: EC2, RDS, Route 53, S3, ECS, Lambda, Secrets Manager, VPC, IAM, EKS, DynamoDB.
• Cloudflare ecosystem: DNS, R2, Zero Trust, Workers, WAF, Tunnels.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Puppet (or equivalents).
• CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Concourse CI.
• Observability: Grafana, metrics and log collection.
• System administration: access control, OS patching, custom package creation.
