DevOps Engineer – AWS & Kubernetes (Hybrid)

About the role

Verra Mobility is expanding its cloud platforms and seeks a hands‑on DevOps Engineer to join the SaaS Operations Support team in South Melbourne. You will own production‑grade AWS services, drive automation, and support Kubernetes environments while contributing to broader platform modernisation across APAC.

Key responsibilities

• Build, operate and improve AWS infrastructure (EKS, EC2, RDS, Lambda, IAM, S3, Route 53).
• Manage Kubernetes workloads and the EKS platform lifecycle, including upgrades, deployments and troubleshooting.
• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Bamboo and related tools.
• Create and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Monitor platform performance and availability with New Relic, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Lead P1/P2 production incident response, root‑cause analysis and preventative actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and support teams in an agile environment.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS services in production environments.
• Practical experience managing Kubernetes, preferably Amazon EKS.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Solid scripting skills in Shell, Python or PowerShell and Linux administration.
• Experience supporting highly available, customer‑facing SaaS platforms.
