DevOps Engineer – Automation & Cloud (Hybrid, Sydney)

About the role

Infotrust is seeking a hands‑on DevOps Engineer who enjoys automating repetitive tasks and improving service delivery. Reporting to the Tools and Automation Lead, you will work across Service Desk, Engineering and Operations to design, build and support reliable automation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify automation opportunities across L1, L2 and L3 service‑delivery workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers and team leaders to understand operational challenges.
• Design and develop automation scripts using Python, PowerShell and Bash.
• Integrate solutions with ITSM, monitoring, security, Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code practices (Terraform, Bicep, ARM).
• Maintain an automation backlog prioritised by impact, efficiency gains and error reduction.
• Document solutions, provide knowledge transfer and support adoption.
• Monitor production automations and refine them as requirements evolve.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of experience in IT, DevOps, SRE, software engineering, managed services or security operations, or a relevant degree with strong project experience.
• Practical, curious and delivery‑focused approach to problem‑solving.
• Strong ownership, collaboration and documentation skills.

Required skills

• Python, PowerShell, Bash scripting.
• Git and source‑control workflows.
• Azure and/or AWS cloud platforms.
• CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code technologies: Terraform, Bicep, ARM.
• REST API integration.
• Microsoft 365 and security tooling.
• Familiarity with AI‑assisted automation, Copilot or Azure OpenAI (advantageous).
