Desktop Support Technician

About the role

The Desktop Support Technician provides hardware and software support for end‑user devices within the South Australia Police Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) Service. Working in the Customer Service Branch, you will help police and corporate staff keep their computers, peripherals and mobile devices running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain desktop and laptop computers, peripherals and licensed applications.
• Provide technical support for mobile devices and other end‑user equipment.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver high‑quality IS&T services.
• Participate in out‑of‑hours support, intra‑ and interstate travel as required.
• Engage in SAPOL’s iEngage program and undertake additional duties at the same remuneration level.

Required profile

• Current Australian work eligibility and successful criminal history check.
• Willingness to work occasional out‑of‑hours and travel when needed.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and contribute to a team environment.

Required skills

• Hardware troubleshooting for desktops and laptops.
• Software installation and configuration.
• Peripheral device setup and support.
• Mobile device management.
