Desktop Support Engineer

About the role

Datacom is seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to join its growing team in Perth CBD. You will provide end‑user services to Datacom’s customers, handling hardware and software support, remote assistance, device deployment and relocations. Australian citizenship is required.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact, logging, triaging and resolving tickets while keeping users informed.
• Troubleshoot desktop and laptop issues such as boot problems, performance drops, driver and patch errors, crashes and freezes.
• Process identity and access requests, including password resets, MFA re‑registration and new starter account provisioning.
• Prepare devices for new starters, ensuring standard builds and application packages are installed.
• Manage mobility devices (phones, tablets) from enrolment to configuration, troubleshooting connectivity and app issues, and handling wipes or re‑provisioning.
• Maintain hardware, peripherals and print services, performing fault‑finding, warranty management and asset register updates.
• Document resolutions with clear notes and knowledge‑base articles for future reference.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer experience for end‑user services.
• Strong prioritisation skills to meet service level agreements.
• Solid knowledge of laptops, desktop PCs, printers, media and audio‑visual equipment, BYOD and mobility solutions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to explain technical information in plain language.
• Self‑motivated with excellent time‑management and the ability to work autonomously.
