Design Architect

About the role

We are seeking a Design Architect to take ownership of early project stages, turning briefs into clear, commercially viable design solutions. Working closely with the Design Director, you will generate concepts, test planning outcomes, and guide projects through to Development Application (DA) approval across retail, commercial and mixed‑use schemes.

Key responsibilities

• Generate design concepts and develop them through to DA submission.
• Test planning outcomes, built form and layout options.
• Present schemes clearly to clients, consultants and approval authorities.
• Work on regional and neighbourhood shopping centres, commercial developments and co‑living projects with integrated retail.
• Collaborate with senior decision‑makers and maintain design clarity as projects progress.

Required profile

• Strong design eye with the ability to balance creativity, planning requirements and commercial objectives.
• Confidence to develop ideas, respond to feedback and maintain scheme clarity.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting to stakeholders.
