Design and Technology Teacher

About the role

Bunbury Senior High School is looking for an energetic and passionate Design and Technology teacher to join its high-performing team. The position is permanent and full-time, starting in Term 1, 2027, and is advertised as part of a recruitment pilot that simplifies teacher applications.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Design and Technology content in an engaging way, giving students a purposeful learning experience that develops their skills, knowledge and understanding of technologies.
• Teach across Woodwork and Metalwork, with experience in Senior School Design and Technology courses highly regarded.
• Link learning with real-world experiences so students gain currency for pathways beyond school.
• Interact effectively with students, colleagues and parents, and contribute to a positive culture of success.

Required profile

• An eligible teacher qualification and registration.
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
• Ability to obtain a WA Working with Children Check and consent to a criminal history check and screening clearance.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum.
• Confidence teaching Woodwork and Metalwork.
• Knowledge of instructional skills, theories and concepts, and of Lemov's strategies for high expectations.
