Deputy Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for a Deputy Financial Controller to lead finance at our Gympie site. The role will own month‑end close, reporting, consolidations and compliance while supporting the integration of a newly acquired business into Hewitt.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the month‑end close process, preparing entity and consolidated three‑way financial statements and reporting packs.
• Coordinate reconciliations across payroll, provisions, cash, loans and working capital to maintain balance‑sheet integrity.
• Ensure compliance with statutory reporting, GST, ITR, OSR and evolving accounting standards, keeping the function audit‑ready.
• Monitor and analyse financial performance, delivering insights for site and group‑level decision‑making.
• Lead treasury activities, banking compliance, audit processes and integration initiatives, linking reporting to central finance.

Required profile

• Finance professional with end‑to‑end finance ownership experience, preferably in a site‑lead or Financial Controller role.
• Strong technical capability in month‑end, consolidations, audit and statutory reporting.
• Background in manufacturing or operational settings with attention to detail and proactive mindset.
• Ability to partner across site and central teams and communicate insights clearly.
• CPA or CA qualification (or working towards).
