Deputy Financial Controller

About the role
We are partnering with a global financial services business to appoint a Deputy Financial Controller to their Sydney team. This high‑impact position supports the Group Financial Controller and leads high‑performing teams across multiple time zones. You will ensure reporting integrity, maintain strong controls, and contribute to business growth.
Key responsibilities
- Lead month‑end close, consolidations and group reporting.
- Review financials to ensure accuracy, control and compliance.
- Manage the audit process and statutory reporting cycles.
- Oversee tax compliance (Australian and international) and coordinate with external advisors.
- Drive process improvement and reporting efficiency.
Required profile
- CA/CPA qualification with 10+ years of experience in financial control or reporting.
- Strong technical accounting skillset, particularly AASB and IFRS.
- Solid understanding of tax compliance (highly regarded).
- Proven track record of leading teams, ideally across regions.
- Hands‑on operator with strong attention to detail.
