Dentist - Fixed Braces Orthodontics

About the role

A well-established, modern dental clinic in the Newcastle/Hunter region is looking for a Dentist to join its team. The clinic already provides orthodontic care, and this position aims to expand access to comprehensive fixed appliance therapy. You will deliver broad general dentistry while offering orthodontic assessments and treatment planning, with the chance to build a strong braces caseload alongside aligners and other elective services.

Key responsibilities

• Comprehensive examinations, diagnosis, preventive care and patient education
• Restorative dentistry including composite fillings, crowns and bridges
• Orthodontic consultations and records (photos, scans/impressions, OPG/ceph where required)
• Fixed braces treatment: case selection, bonding, adjustments and retention protocols
• Aligner therapy and interceptive orthodontics (as appropriate)
• Expansion/orthopaedic-style ortho workflows where suitable and within scope
• Extractions, emergency dentistry and pain relief appointments
• Cosmetic dentistry opportunities such as whitening, bonding and veneers planning, depending on interest

Required profile

• Current AHPRA registration as a Dentist with unrestricted Australian working rights
• Demonstrated experience providing fixed braces, or strong capability with appropriate case selection
• Confidence in orthodontic diagnosis, treatment planning and patient communication and consent
• Commitment to ethical dentistry, clinical governance and excellent record keeping
• Team-first mindset and willingness to collaborate with other clinicians on ortho cases
